Alkaline Diet Recipe: Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

If you want to kick start your metabolism and finally lose the weight that has been hanging on no matter what you do, you’ve got to feed your body more minerals. That’s the problem behind why most modern diets just don’t work.

And there’s no better way to start your day than a mineral-packed smoothie. You’re going to love this one if you want that delicious pumpkin spice without all the acid that’s in your typical latte. (All coffee is acidic, but especially when it’s combined with cow’s milk.)

Practically every ingredient in this smoothie is full of minerals, so first thing in the morning, you’ll get an alkaline boost. Even the cinnamon and nutmeg are alkaline!

PUMPKIN SPICE SMOOTHIE

2 cups fresh spinach

2 cups almond or coconut milk, unsweetened

1 cup pumpkin, unsweetened
(organic canned or fresh)

1 banana, frozen

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. ginger root, minced (or powder)

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1 date

1 tbsp. chia seeds

DIRECTIONS

Blend spinach and almond milk first.
Then add remaining ingredients except chia and blend.

Add chia once all is smooth – then blend on a very low speed to mix. If you don’t have a variable speed blender, add chia and stir with a spoon.
