Weight Loss Cacao Protein Smoothie Recipealmonds

Serves 1


1 cup spinach
1/2 cup soaked raw almonds (ideally soaked overnight)
1/4 cup ground flaxseed (i.e. golden flaxseed)
1/4 cup raw cacao powder
1 banana, frozen
1/2 cup blueberries, frozen
1 tsp. lemon juice, fresh squeezed
1/4 tsp. sea salt (Celtic Grey, Himalayan, or Redmond Real Salt)
1 cup almond or coconut milk

      Hi Ann, To make this recipe more diabetic friendly, just remove the banana and blueberries, and substitute in anything you want - for example, pomegranates, coconut oil, etc. Any low sugar fruit or just omit the fruit and have the greens with cacao and add more fat (coconut oil). I would also suggest making your own almond/hemp milk or almond/cashew milk to stay away from the sugary store bought cartons.
