Spicy Moroccan Chickpeas from Fall Cleanse Recipe

Last time, one of my top lifestyle tips to get you OFF YOUR ACID was to have healthy snacks available.

How many times have you found yourself in this scenario? You’re in the middle of doing something and suddenly, you are starving. You need to finish what you’re doing, but your need to eat is even greater.

That’s a tough scenario for anyone who has rejected the SAD (standard American diet) way of eating in favor of real, healthy food.

That’s why it’s so important to have prepared snacks on hand so they are ready when hunger strikes.

I do buy alkaline-friendly energy bars like Chia Bars or Vega Bars, and I also keep pre-made trail mix in the pantry at all times.

Even when I don’t have time to blend a smoothie, I can pull pre-cut veggies and hummus out of the fridge.

And today, I want to share one of my family’s favorite snacks that we always have on hand. They are delicious and ready to eat no matter where we go or what time of day or night.


ALKALINE SUPER POWER TREATS

INGREDIENTS

[Makes 24 balls or 6-8 bars]

1 cup raw almond butter

6 pitted dates

¼ cup flax seeds

¼ cup chia seeds

3 tsp. chia seeds (additional add on at end)

¼ cup cacao nibs

3 tsp. cinnamon

2 tsp. vanilla (or 3-4 drops Medicine Flower Vanilla Drops)

1 cup hulled hemp seeds

DIRECTIONS

In food processor, pulse together almond butter and dates.

Add remaining ingredients except the hemp seeds and continue to pulse until a ball forms.

Roll into inch-sized balls (or can make into bars as shown in picture) and then coat in hemp seeds and 3 tsp. of chia seeds.

Store for up to a week in an airtight container.
