3 Ways to Enjoy Alcohol – Without the Acid

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could wave a magic wand and neutralize acid in all of the foods and beverages that we love?

I bet a lot of you would start with alcohol!

I get it. I’m not much of a drinker myself, but many of you want to enjoy a drink now and then without the acid that is in ALL alcohol. And for good reason. Acid makes it harder to lose weight, harder to stay healthy, and harder to fight inflammation that is behind serious diseases.

While we can’t just wave a magic wand, there are ways to enjoy an alcoholic beverage occasionally without all of the acid.

So today, I’m going to share with you 3 ways that you actually can enjoy alcohol if you want to – without ingesting a ton of acid along with it.

In fact, one of these options actually neutralizes the acid almost completely. And it’s a trick I haven’t shared anywhere before. You’re going to be shocked by this!

So let’s get this party started!

3 Alcohol Options That Are Light on Acid

#1: Mix Liquor With Minerals

I shared this one in a blog post a few weeks ago, and lots of you have let us know that you’ve tried it. This idea is thanks to some of the acid-kickers in our Facebook group who do this when they want an alcoholic beverage.
It’s called the Acid-Kicking Vodka Martini. But you don’t have to stop with mixing vodka with the 3 great tasting flavors – Blood Orange, Strawberry Kiwi, and Lemon – of Acid-Kicking Minerals
You can mix the hard liquor of your choice with any of our Minerals to create your own unique, acid-kicking beverage. The one rule of thumb to go by is that you want to choose the clearer and harder types of alcohol. Darker or opaque drinks with less alcohol content like beer, hard cider, and liqueurs are usually more acidic.

Here are a few of the best options:

  • Gin – The least acidic alcohol you can drink is gin. It contains no sugar, it’s distilled, and it is made from botanicals like juniper, licorice, and coriander, which contain minerals. That also gives it a unique flavor, so it’s a great alternative to flavored liqueurs.
  • Tequila – This one has caused some confusion because it’s made out of 100% blue agave, which when used to make a sweetener is one of the worst sugars you can consume. However, the way it’s processed by distillation, you’re not consuming any fructose – no sugar at all in fact – so that’s what makes it okay unlike other agave products.
  • Rum – Although it’s made from sugarcane, rum actually contains no sugar, as well as no gluten or preservatives. So surprisingly, rum is a relatively alkaline choice.
  • Vodka Made From Grapes – The most common brand made from grapes is Ciroc, so if you drink vodka, I highly suggest you seek it out. Other brands that are also okay are Glen’s, made from beets, and Chase and Cirrus, made from potatoes. Otherwise, you want to avoid vodka, as it is typically made from grains.

Here’s the recipe again in case you missed it.

ACID-KICKING VODKA MARTINI

Ingredients (serves 1)

1 scoop Acid-Kicking Minerals (flavor of your choice)

1 oz. Ciroc vodka
1 cup ice

Optional garnish: slice of lemon, slice of kiwi, or twist of orange peel (depending on the flavor of Minerals you chose)

Directions

Shake vodka and Minerals together with ice in a martini shaker. Then pour in a glass, garnish with a slice of lemon, slice of kiwi, or twist of orange peel, (depending on the flavor of Minerals you chose) and enjoy.

#2: Alkalize Before & After

This one’s for all of you sticklers and aficionados who wouldn’t dare mess with your favorite cocktail. We see you!

Go ahead, enjoy your drink the way you love it. You don’t need to change a thing.

What you’re going to change is what you do before and after.

You want to alkalize and hydrate so you’re setting yourself up to neutralize the acid and prevent any hangover symptoms.

First, before you imbibe, drink a full 8 oz. glass of filtered water. Better yet, add a scoop of Acid-Kicking Greens. That’s going to hydrate you so the alcohol cannot deplete your reserves.

After your alcoholic beverage, follow it up with another glass of filtered water, this time with a scoop of Acid-Kicking Minerals. The potassium, calcium, sodium bicarbonate, and magnesium are going to neutralize some of the acids in your cocktail, which means you’ll sleep better and wake up without a hangover.

In the morning, depending on how you feel, you’ll want to drink more water first thing with either Greens or Minerals. If you have even the slightest touch of a hangover, take Minerals and follow it up a few hours later with Greens. Otherwise, take Greens and your day will be off to an awesome start.

#3: Turn Your Wine Alkaline

This is the trick I haven’t shared anywhere before. This might shock you, but you’ve got to try it to believe it.

A friend of ours told us that since she is a wine lover, she has discovered a way to neutralize the acid in wine without affecting the taste. In fact, this doesn’t just neutralize acid… It actually changes its pH to alkaline! Watch this video to see it.

So what’s this trick?

Add a packet of Acid-Kicking BLACK Coffee Alkalizer to a glass of wine! No, I’m not kidding!

Our Black Coffee Alkalizer is completely flavorless. You cannot taste it, whether in coffee or wine. That’s what makes coffee aficionados love it, especially if they suffer from heartburn.

But now wine lovers can rejoice too! Give it a try because you’re really going to be blown away. Not only because it’s tasteless, but also because it delivers acid-fighting minerals and enzymes to optimize brain-boosting energy, suppress hunger, and prevent headaches and hangovers.

This works in both red and white wine. Just remember you are always better off buying sulfite-free wines made from organic grapes. Grapes are on The Dirty Dozen list for pesticides so it’s smart to be picky about your wine!
