One jar, five minutes, and suddenly dinner is 10x easier.
I’m a big fan of double-duty recipes—especially when they’re healthy, fast, and family-approved. This 2-in-1 Sesame Ginger Dressing & Marinade checks all the boxes. It’s clean, flavorful, and full of ingredients that support digestion, hormonal balance, and steady energy—without turning your kitchen into a disaster zone.
Oh—and yes, it tastes just as good as it sounds.
Whether you’re drizzling it over a crisp fall salad or marinating wild salmon for dinner, this nourishing little recipe is one you’ll come back to again and again.
Or, do it my way: double up and do BOTH.
Ingredients (Double the recipe if you want enough for both dressing & marinade—trust me, you’ll want both.)
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp coconut aminos
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp tahini
Directions
Whisk all ingredients in a small bowl. Or do what I do and toss everything in a glass jar and shake it like a protein smoothie. This will keep refrigerated for up to 1 week.
How to Use It
1. Salad Dressing:

This makes any salad next-level. Drizzle over mixed greens, shredded cabbage, roasted veggies, or grain bowls. It’s the kind of dressing that makes you want to eat more plants.
2. Marinade:
-
Wild Salmon or Tuna:
Marinate for 30 minutes, then bake or grill. Done. -
Air-Chilled Chicken:
Marinate for up to 8 hours, then bake or pan-sear.
Why air-chilled chicken matters:
Most chicken is water-chilled in chlorinated baths (yes, really) which adds unwanted moisture—and weirdly enough, dilutes flavor and increases cooking shrinkage.
Air-chilled chicken, on the other hand, is cooled using cold air only. No added water, no bleach, just better taste, texture, and quality. It's especially great for marinades because the flavors actually absorb instead of sliding right off. Once you try it, you’ll never go back.
Let’s Talk About the WHY Behind the Recipe
Yes, this tastes delicious—but every ingredient also serves a purpose:
Ginger & garlic are powerful anti-inflammatories. They support digestion, immunity, and even joint health.
Healthy fats from sesame and olive oil help balance hormones, improve skin, and support brain health.
Tahini is rich in minerals like magnesium and zinc—essential for energy and immune function.
Coconut aminos provide that umami flavor without the bloating effects of soy.
Feeding your body doesn’t need to be complicated. When meals are rooted in real nourishment, we feel better, think clearer, and honestly—parent a little more patiently (ok, maybe that’s just me...).
The Easiest Health Hack I Swear By

Look, even with recipes like this, getting enough greens into our diets (and our kids’ diets) can feel like a full-time job. That’s why my #1 daily non-negotiable is a shot of Acid-Kicking Greens—or blending a scoop into a smoothie.
It’s 21 organic, alkaline superfoods in one scoop—no prep, no cleanup, no battles over broccoli. It's the easiest, most effective way to keep your energy up, your digestion moving, and your body (and family!) in an alkaline, anti-inflammatory state.
Because let’s be honest… some days, we’re making salmon with sesame ginger marinade. Other days, we’re eating almond butter off a spoon over the sink.
How We Use Acid-Kicking Greens in Our Everyday Life
Around here, Acid-Kicking Greens are just part of our rhythm. It started when the kids were little—really little. They’ve both been drinking their greens since they were six months old. These days, it’s part of our morning routine: I put a scoop into a glass of water for each of them while I’m blending their smoothie. (Yes, I do both—it’s that easy, and they love the flavors.)
Brayden’s go-to is Citrus—especially before soccer practice or games. He swears it gives him more energy and focus (and honestly, I believe him). Alea loves the Berry because it turns her water pink and tastes like fruit punch—without the junk. I like Raw for myself. It’s clean, earthy, and the perfect addition to my morning water when I’m intermittent fasting or doing a water fast.
I’ll sip on it throughout the day—it keeps me feeling energized and clear-headed without needing a second (or third) coffee. On fasting days, it helps me stay full and focused while still giving my body the deep nourishment it needs.
And here's the thing: I’m not perfect. We’re a real family with real schedules. But adding a scoop of Acid-Kicking Greens every day feels like one of those small, consistent wins that makes a big difference over time.
