Healthy Vacation Hacks

The BIG TRIP, the one your family has been talking about for months, is just a few days away. Woohoo! Your home is flowing with excited energy, but as the mom, you also know that vacations mean careful planning and preventing sickness at all costs.

Since you have a million details to figure out and tiny human clothes to fold, I’m going to pitch in and do the most important packing for you—hacks for staying healthy and happy.

On a crowded cruise or in a beach house with friends and extended family, you never know what new germs could creep in and ruin the rendezvous. You also will probably welcome a few adult beverages, but not the hangover that does NOT have to follow. 

I want you to have just as much fun as you do, and you will if you follow Dr. Daryl’s Holiday Hacks. 

Yes Way Rosé! I’m serious. Vacations are the time to kick back and relax in beautiful settings. Enjoy a few drinks—but just make sure to neutralize the acid with Acid-Kicking Alcohol Alkalizer. Go big on hydration. Traveling (planes, trains, cars, etc.), summer heat, AC on full blast, and getting out of your routine are all recipes for dehydration disasters. Watch out for fatigue, constipation, dizziness, headaches, darker urine, and even feeling thirsty. They are all signs of dehydration.
Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate again with pure water. I really stress this because dehydration weakens your immune system (aka invites illnesses in) and can lead to a range of other health issues that are never invited on vacations.

Take advantage of the beautiful place by practicing grounding and forest bathing with your family. Connecting with nature is one of the best ways to release stress, aka acid. 

Grounding (earthing) is a therapeutic technique that focuses on realigning electrical energy by reconnecting to the earth. It involves simply digging your bare feet into the dirt, sand, rocks, grass, or wherever you are. 

Forest Bathing is the act of breathing deeply and quietly observing nature. After just a few minutes, you will notice stress and anxiety fleeing from your body and awe and wonder flowing in.
