Today’s recipe features one of those superfoods. Artichokes are a bio-hack for improving digestion, heart health, and liver health, they help regulate blood sugar, and can help you crush cravings for sugar and other foods you want to avoid.

Artichokes are among the superfoods that act as prebiotic gut healers because they are fiber-dense, along with onions, garlic, sweet potatoes, chia seeds, leeks, asparagus, and dandelion greens.
In this recipe, we’ll steam the artichokes and season with lemon, salt, and aromatics to create a tasty and unique snack or side dish.

STEAMED ARTICHOKE WITH LEMON & HERBS
Ingredients [Serves 2]
1 lemon, freshly juiced
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried thyme
Sea salt (Celtic Grey, Himalayan. Or Redmond Real Salt) to taste
Black pepper to taste
Snip off sharp tips on the artichoke leaves and cut off stem. Place in a steam basket and steam for 30 to 40 minutes until tender. You will know it’s done when a fork easily pierces the stem. Squeeze fresh lemon, sea salt and dried oregano, basil and thyme.
