3 Hacks For Slowing Down Aging

Your DNA is NOT your destiny. You DO have control over your aging process!! For too long, we were taught “you got what you got” regarding your health and genes.

However, the science of epigenetics says the opposite. Epigenetics is the study of how your behaviors and environment can cause changes that affect the way your genes work. This is why I'm passionate about studying the body and mind and how they react to your lifestyle.

Below are 3 practical hacks you can take—right now—to slow down the aging process. Are you an overachiever and want to ace the aging test? Check out my mini library of blogs, at the end of the post, about how to stay young!

Age can be just a number—ask the world-famous 92-year-old gymnast Johanna Quaas and 102-year-old runner Ida Keeling!! Ida didn’t start running until she was 62 to get out of a deep depression. No excuses—Just Do It! She did—and so can YOU!

YOU can make big, healthy changes at any age—today is a great day to start!

Hack #1: Live Like a Blue Zone Centenarian

Have you heard of the “Blue Zones”? They are places around the world with the largest living centenarian population who are basking in daily good health and happiness. Sounds dreamy—and it CAN be your reality! I wrote all about “Blue Zone” secrets HERE. So please keep it open on a new tab for further reading.

People living the Blue Zone lifestyle don’t even know the words “dementia” and “heart disease.” They also don’t know the words “sugar” and “acid” because none of the above exists in their splendid worlds of purpose, deep friendships, fresh food, and lots of body movement!

Hack #2: Beauty Is An INSIDE Job

Skin damage, brittle hair and nails, and “normal signs of aging” do NOT have to become your norm. Ever wonder why some people rapidly age while others are “ageless?” The secret isn’t found in the next $200 miracle cream on your bathroom shelf—it’s actually in your kitchen cabinets!

The #1 most powerful supplement for skin texture, tone, and elasticity (all noticeable signs of unhealthy aging) is..drum roll please...ohhh OMEGA-3s!

I can’t recommend omega-3 enough because they also reduce the risk of heart disease, prevent headaches, and drastically improve brain and mental health. Your body can’t make Omega-3s on its own. Therefore, if you want to live your most beautiful and functional life possible, please start adding Acid-Kicking Omega-3s into your daily brain and beauty routine.

Hack #3: Move Fast To Slow Down

I recently read a study that found people over 50 who worked out regularly (5 days a week for 30+ minutes) were biologically up to 30 years younger than their chronological age! How’s that for slowing the aging process?!

Our friends Johanna and Ida know this to be true and enjoy the mental, physical, and soulful benefits of exercising even in the 100th year of their lives!!

If you haven’t watched their mini (2-3 minute long) videos about them yet, then please do so HERE and HERE. Your current and future self will thank you! Get inspired—and then GET GOING!

Hike, bike, figure skate, chase your grandkids around the yard, or jump on a trampoline—be a giggling kid again! NASA did a study and showed that the rebounder (mini trampoline) is 68% more effective for cardiovascular exercise and weight loss than running!
