How To Stay Healthy On Vacation


It’s the night before the long-awaited and oh-so-needed, summer vacation.

Everyone’s hyped and packing their bags. Swimsuits, hats, bug spray, flip-flops, and sunscreen are all being stowed away with joy. 

Summer vacations are cherished memories, and I’m so excited for you. But I’m also a parent. I know that traveling with friends and family can be stressful—especially if someone gets sick. 

Therefore, just follow these healthy vacation tips to reduce stress and sickness and increase fun and happiness.

Hydrate—Big Time.

Traveling (planes, trains, cars, etc.), summer heat, and new environments can make you more dehydrated than normal. Watch out for fatigue, constipation, dizziness, headaches, darker urine, and even feeling thirsty because they are all signs of dehydration. 

Dehydration weakens your immune system (aka invites illnesses in) and can lead to a range of other health issues that are never invited on vacations. Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate again with pure water. Bottoms up!
