Antibiotics are one of the leading causes of LEAKY GUT and all gut issues!
That being said, I want to be clear: sometimes taking antibiotics is absolutely necessary and even life-saving. If you need to take them—DO IT—but then follow up with my protocol below. Be smart, ask questions, do your research, and be your body’s (and your kid’s) best advocate.
Back-to-school and daycare sick season is in full swing, with the winter sickies just around the corner. Antibiotic prescriptions will be blanketing the country like a snowy day.
And these little pills don’t discriminate; they destroy all bacteria, good and bad. This allows toxins, diseases, yeast, mold, and inflammatory bacteria to enter your body without any defense mechanisms. However, my protocol will not only boost and strengthen your body but also make it strong enough to fight, even after several rounds of antibiotics.
Antibiotics May NOT Be The Answer—Dig Until You Find The Root Cause
Before I lay out my improved protocol, I want to share a quick story a friend recently told me that highlights a point I really want to drive home…
My friend Jenny took her 1-year-old son to the pediatrician because he had flu symptoms: fever, congestion, cranky mood, you name it. After a quick check, the doctor recommended antibiotics for what seemed like a double ear infection.

But here’s the twist…
Before just blindly saying “yes,” she paused and asked if the doctor could do a more thorough exam or explore other reasons for the symptoms. The doctor asked, “Does he ever stick stuff up his nose?” She laughed, “All the time!”
Sure enough, the doc checked and found a tiny pebble lodged way up his nostril. That one little pebble caused the sinus blockage, which led to the ear issues and flu-like symptoms.
Antibiotics wouldn’t have helped—it was a mechanical issue, not a microbial one. The solution? Pebble out. Problem solved.
Moral of the story: always advocate for your body—and your kid’s body—before jumping into antibiotics.
Because while antibiotics can save lives, they also wipe out your gut’s delicate ecosystem like a wildfire through a rainforest. And your gut? It’s where your immune system lives. It’s where your serotonin (aka feel-good hormone) is produced. It’s where your inflammation response is regulated. In other words, your gut is everything.
So if you ever find yourself in a situation where antibiotics are necessary, here’s how to recover and protect your body’s systems.
My 2.0 Post-Antibiotics Protocol
Following this 2-step process will HEAL and SEAL your gut so that it is stronger than ever!
STEP 1: Take 3x a day for 2 weeks
- Mix 1 tablespoon of Argentyn 23 (or Sovereign Silver) and 1 tablespoon of Liquid Aloe Vera. Drink on an empty stomach.
- Drink 2 scoops of Gut Punch; 1 in the morning and 1 at night. You can also enjoy Gut Punch in this Strawberry Chia Parfait that Chelsea invented and I crave every morning! You kids will LOVE eating these homemade gummy candies (that sneaks in Gut Punch!).
- Take a SPORE-BASED probiotic such as Megasporbiotic or JustThrive. You get 1/1,000 of the probiotics our ancestors used to get, and they didn’t have to deal with processed foods, chemicals, food dyes, etc, destroying their guts!
- Detox what doesn’t belong: Help out your liver by drinking tons of filtered water with a pinch of mineral-rich salt, sit in saunas, and exercise.
- If you are dealing with specific GI problems from the antibiotics, such as canker sores, throat burn, dry cough, acid reflux, etc., drink this healing elixir tea to soothe your inner systems.
STEP 2: This is for continued use as part of your wellness and prevention routine.
- Morning: Shoot down 1 scoop of Gut Punch and Acid-Kicking Greens.
- Evening (before bed): 1 scoop of Gut Punch and Acid-Kicking Minerals.
- Daily: Take a SPORE-BASED probiotic such as Megasporbiotic or JustThrive.
Doing all of the above will:
- Restore gut lining integrity
- Alkalize your body after the acidic damage from antibiotics
- Reduce inflammation
- Promote healthy digestion
- Rebuild what antibiotics strip away
- Feed and protect your microbiome
Trust Your Gut—Literally and Figuratively
Healing after antibiotics isn’t just about restoring balance in your belly. It’s also about remembering that you are the authority on your body. That mom who asked the pediatrician to look a little deeper? She avoided wrecking her toddler’s gut and immune system by trusting her instincts.
But whatever you need to do, know that you CAN heal, rebuild, and thrive. You just need the right tools—and the courage to trust your gut.
