Seed oils are:
- Soybean oil (most common)
- Sunflower oil
- Canola oil
- Rapeseed oil

It's true and shocking, but it's a super EASY fix: Replace seed oils with organic avocado, coconut, or olive oils. I also use ghee or grass-fed butter in my cooking.
Before I get started on why trashing all seed oils is a MUST, I want to add this clarifying message:
“Vegetable oil” is often interchanged with “seed oil.” Don’t be fooled by the terms “vegetable” and “seed” - they are even worse for you than sugar and tobacco. Seed Oils Dangerous Secret
High levels of polyunsaturated oils (seed oils, especially soybean) are directly linked to CANCER and OBESITY and destroy your brain.
A recent study discovered that polyunsaturated oils (not high-fructose corn syrup) are the main cause of the obesity and diabetes epidemic. If you look at photos from 30+ years ago, people were not as heavy and sick as today. Soybeans and other seed oils that have infiltrated their way into everyday foods are to blame.
We are also experiencing anxiety, depression, and brain diseases like Alzheimer’s at alarming rates. Soybean and seed oils (conventional and modified) contribute to genetic changes in the brain, including the production of oxytocin (the love/happiness hormone). This is because soybeans and seed oils profoundly affect your brain's hypothalamus, disrupting over 100 genes, including body weight, mood, and hormone regulators.
Conversely, saturated fats (coconut oil, avocado oil, grass-fed butter, tallow, etc.)—the “healthy fats” that soybean oil replaced—prevent cancer, reduce anxiety, burn fat, ignite happiness, and help brain cells thrive.

Soybean oil is the most commonly used seed oil in processed foods and cooking across the USA—but that doesn’t mean it has to be in YOUR diet. Here are a few tantalizing swaps to make today.
- Don’t drink soybean protein smoothies. DO drink Acid-Kicking Plant-Based Protein that includes hemp, sacha inchi, and pea proteins.
- Don’t use processed margarine, spreads, and seed oils. DO use grass fed butter, avocado oil, coconut oil, and olive oil.
- Don’t use commercial salad dressing filled with seed oils. DO make your own and try my favorite homemade salad dressing.
- Don’t eat greasy chips soaked in seed oils. DO make your own versions from sweet potatoes, kale, and zucchini.
- Don’t eat processed, seed-oil-infused snacks. DO eat my delicious snacks.
- Don’t eat toxic dips. DO eat my divine and alkaline dips: garlic, macadamia nut, cool dill, and hummus.
