Clients ask me every single week: “Should I take a GLP-1 to lose weight?”
And here’s my answer — the same one I give in my practice: Most likely not*
There is a time and place for these medications, and I will discuss it below. However, you MUST understand both sides of the equation. There’s temporary (toxic) weight loss, and then there’s true metabolic health, gut strength, and long-term freedom from the vicious cycle of weight regain.
Let’s break it down.
GLP-1s: When They Can Help (and When They Hurt)
If you are extremely far away from your goal weight, struggling with metabolic dysfunction, and feel like you are drowning under cravings, blood sugar swings, and fatigue… then yes — a SHORT, monitored period on a GLP-1 medication can be a jump start.
But here’s the key:
✔ You MUST combine it with lifestyle changes.
✔ You MUST use the window of reduced appetite to fuel your body with QUALITY foods.
